Dallas, TX, July 25, 2025 – Mohr Partners, Inc., a top-three global occupier-focused corporate real estate advisory firm, has expanded its national consulting capabilities by hiring Patrick Kelly as a director in the firm’s Cleveland office.
Kelly brings nearly 40 years of experience in the energy sector and will lead energy efficiency and sustainability analysis services for Mohr Partners’ occupier clients. He will collaborate closely with Cleveland market leaders Dennis Burnside and Scott Pollock to strengthen the firm’s advisory platform across the country.
“I’m excited to join Mohr Partners and work alongside such a talented team,” Kelly said. “Today’s real estate decisions increasingly require a strategic energy perspective. I look forward to helping clients reduce costs, manage risks around energy availability, meet sustainability goals and adapt to changing regulatory environments.”

Kelly has a deep background in energy technologies, sustainability strategies and economic development, along with a solid understanding of electric transmission and distribution systems, utility operations and regulatory and government affairs.
Before joining Mohr Partners, Kelly had a long and distinguished career with FirstEnergy, where he served as a director of economic development and built strategic alliances with energy customers in the manufacturing, processing, distribution and research and development industries. He helped retain and expand numerous Fortune 500 clients who required significant energy resources to maintain their competitive advantage in their specific industry segment. FirstEnergy was regularly recognized as a top utility for economic development under Kelly’s leadership.
Kelly will now apply his highly specialized skill set to advise Mohr Partners’ occupier clients who include energy availability, cost and reliability as major components of their site selection process.
“Patrick’s energy expertise adds an important new dimension to our advisory services,” Burnside said. “As more clients seek guidance on sustainability and energy management, Patrick will play a critical role in delivering measurable value.”
Over his career, Kelly has developed a wide network of professional relationships at the national, state, regional and local levels, supported by years of engagement and volunteer leadership. He previously served as president of the Utility Economic Development Association prior to his retirement from FirstEnergy.
“Pat’s expertise in energy advisory will allow our manufacturing, data center and distribution clients to choose optimal locations that allow them to deliver optimal outcomes by lowering their energy costs,” Robert Shibuya, Mohr Partners Chairman & CEO, said.
The addition of Kelly is part of Mohr Partners’ broader growth strategy, which focuses on both geographic expansion and enhanced service offerings. In 2025 alone, the firm has opened or expanded offices in Detroit, Seattle, Phoenix, Cleveland, Minneapolis and Dallas, while also adding senior leaders in project and development services, economic incentives and energy consulting.
