DALLAS, TX — (May 29, 2013) — Mohr Partners, Inc. was recently recognized for its support of Jonathan’s Place, a local non-profit and the only licensed emergency shelter in Dallas County for children.
On May 14, Jonathan’s Place hosted its second annual “A Chance To Soar” luncheon at Brook Hollow Golf Club to raise funds to support its operations and to honor outstanding support from community members. The 2012 luncheon raised $175,000 for the organization.
Jonathan’s Place was the first licensed foster group home in Texas for drug-addicted babies and small children. They have since expanded their mission and now provide emergency residential care services to abused, abandoned and neglected children. Their facility was created and is operated by the Kid Net Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 1991 by Dallas resident Lisa Matthews and Phil Matteis to provide specialized services and housing to at-risk children in Dallas County and throughout the state.
Mohr Partners has sponsored Jonathan’s Place for over seven years, committing resources by allowing its associates time off to visit the cottage and planning fun activities throughout the year for the children. Mohr associates donate over 350 hours annually working with the children and have raised more than $83,000 in cash donations. Additionally, Mohr sponsors Easter and Christmas parties annually where Mohr associates contribute items for the event such as Easter baskets, candy, toys, clothing and other items to ensure the children receive gifts and are not forgotten at these special times of the year. Several times a year Mohr associates visit the cottages for fun events, donating supplies necessary for maintaining the homes. Throughout the year, Mohr associates sponsor fundraisers to raise money for which Mohr Partners, as a company, matches all donations.
Honorary Chair Lisa Troutt, Luncheon Chairs Connie Miles and Kathy Jeffrey, and Host Committee Chair Pam Busbee from Jonathan’s Place honored Mohr Partners for their outstanding support. In attendance for Mohr Partners was Bob Mohr, Chairman and CEO, Ted Fredericks, President, Jennifer Norris, Managing Principal, and several members of Mohr Partners’ Charity Committee.
“I would like to thank everyone at Jonathan’s Place for this recognition and honor. We have been teaming up with Jonathan’s Place since 2007, and I can truly say that everyone at Mohr Partners has gotten so much out of this relationship,” said Jennifer Norris, Managing Principal at Mohr Partners.
“The visits to the cottages, field trips with the kids and the visits when they come to our office mean so much to the Mohr Partners team. Although it is Jonathan’s Place that is recognizing Mohr Partners for being such a benefit to them, we feel that the Mohr Partners team has gotten the better end of the bargain. It has been rewarding beyond measure.”
“Mohr Partners has supported Jonathan’s Place since 2007 in a big way,” said Allicia Graham-Frye, CEO of Jonathan’s Place. “They have generously given both monetarily and in-kind. While the donation numbers are impressive, it is the heart and soul of Mohr Partners’ leadership and staff that provides a life-changing impact on our children. We could not have asked for a better friend than what we have found in Mohr Partners. Their tireless dedication and generosity truly inspires the staff, board, volunteers and the children of Jonathan’s Place.”
“We are very honored and humbled to receive this recognition from Jonathan’s Place,” said Bob Mohr, Chairman and CEO at Mohr Partners. “We believe that giving back to our community is an important element for our company. Commercial real estate is a very fast paced business and our teams work very hard, but one thing we have always said is that we need to play hard, too. We are very thankful for the opportunity to work with Jonathan’s Place and look forward to many more years.”
“We had partnered with several different charitable organizations over the years, and eventually formed a charity committee and made
a decision to make a bigger impact with a single organization,” said Ted Fredericks, President at Mohr Partners. “After researching organizations in the Dallas area we found Jonathan’s Place to be a perfect match for us. We were able to donate financially, but more importantly our team was able to give of their time and make a direct one-on-one impact with the children there. We wanted to partner with an organization that was doing great work and helping the future adults of America.”
