Melvin Langhart serves as a Senior Lease Accountant for Mohr Partners, Inc., based in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, he supports the firm’s lease administration department, contributing to the accounting and financial reporting functions that underpin Mohr Partners’ lease services practice.
Langhart brings more than two decades of experience in lease accounting, general ledger management and financial systems. He most recently served as Manager of Lease Accounting at Sally Beauty Holdings, where he oversaw lease accounting for thousands of retail locations across North America and Europe. His responsibilities included managing monthly and quarterly close procedures, maintaining compliance with SOX controls, administering the company’s incremental borrowing rate calculations and leading the annual right-of-use asset impairment review. He also held the role of Senior Lease Accountant at the same organization, where he reconciled right-of-use assets and lease liabilities and compiled data for lease disclosures.
Prior to that, he was a Supervisor of Lease and License Agreement Accounting at Caesars Entertainment, where he played an integral role in the company’s ASC 842 implementation. He led the review of more than 800 service agreements for embedded leases and oversaw the lessee-side implementation, which included recording more than $500 million in right-of-use assets and lease liabilities on the balance sheet.
Earlier in his career, Langhart held business analyst and client support roles at FIS Global (formerly Sungard) and worked at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago, where he rose to Trust Officer and Team Leader in the Mutual Fund Accounting Division.
Langhart holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has successfully completed the Uniform CPA Examination.
